Royal St Peter’s Valley

4 June 2022 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Find out about St Peter’s Valley’s Royal heritage at Jersey’s only remaining working watermill, Le Moulin de Quétivel.

To commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, enjoy a visit to Le Moulin de Quetivel to find out about St Peter’s Valley’s Royal Heritage.

Meet the miller and discover why the King’s tenants living in the parish of St Brelade were required to grind their grain in St Peter during the medieval era.

Visit the Victorian Kitchen to find out how the Hawkins family celebrated Queen Victoria’s Golden and Diamond Jubilee. Admire the ‘High Tea’ Rebecca Hawkins has laid out in the kitchen for family and friends to enjoy. And find out about historical recipes such as Victorian Sponge (Sandwich), which the Queen was very fond of, and gilded gingerbread, a traditional celebration treat.

Freshly ground flour on sale in the shop. Refreshments served all day.

Plenty of activities for children to enjoy on the day, including a quiz and a spotter chart.
